Curriculum

Little Oak has chosen HighReach Learning, an award-winning research-supported curriculum to use in our classrooms. Through the HighReach Learning curriculum, your child will experience a well-rounded balance of learning activities and offers many opportunities to develop important skills needed to be successful in school.

Getting a child ready for school involves families, schools, and the community. Our staff plays a very important roll in your child's education. HighReach supports them by offering suggested content, ideas and activities that can be adjusted to meet your child's individual needs and interests.

As a parent, you can expect learning experiences that are age-appropriate for your child. In each classroom the curriculum provides materials and activities that are designed specifically for the age group. Daily learning experience captures and supports the learning of important skills and concepts.

You can expect fun and challenging learning activities for your child. As your child matures and moves to the next level, he/she encounters a higher level of learning that challenges growth in his/her abilities, while still having fun! Skills range from learning basic colors with younger children to exploring the alphabet with older children.

Throughout each month, your child will be bringing home materials to keep you up-to-date on what he/she is learning at school. Creative art projects such as painted pictures and collages, child-created books, and decorated puppets are just a few of the items your child may enjoy creating. Be sure to spend time talking with your child about what he/she is learning at school. You'll be amazed to discover how much your child is learning at our Center.

The HighReach Learning curriculum is developed by a team of experienced educators. They spend a tremendous amount of time studying research articles and trend reports in order to offer your child the latest and greatest in early childhood education.
